Army Corp of Engineer's Dam

This Dam, operated by the US Army Corp of Engineers, was originally installed to refill the Dismal Swamp Canal System as the Locks were cycled



Cabin

Smith Cabin - currently scheduled to be demolished by fire because it is too difficult to remove from its current site



Brown Water

The brown color of the water is caused by the roots of Juniper Trees. This water was valued by early sailors, as it would retain its freshness on the long voyages home
