COOPER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Cooper Elementary School is part of the Hampton City Public Schools.
Named after the the late William
Mason Cooper, the school continues to follow in his philosophy. Guided
by the leadership and experience of Mr. William
Cawley, principal, Cooper is home to 543 students. Everyone at the school
is committed to meeting the personalized needs of its growing population.
The close proximity of numerous outside resources, like the Virginia Air
& Space Museum and NASA research facilities at Langley, enhance the
learning environment of the school.
Cooper is unique among the division schools. As an open school, the grade
levels are inclusive and no walls separate the classes. Students learn cooperation,
respect, and the importance of teamwork. Teachers work together to ensure
every student has the opportunity to excel.
Technology is an integral part of the school, which has implemented
an exciting new program: Design Technology.
